Facilities at Manchester Airport

Aviation Viewing Park
A must for all aviation enthusiasts! With access to Concorde and its flight deck, A DC-10, Trident & AVRO RJX.

The DC-10 must be booked in advance: school bookings through the Airport Tour Centre on 0161 489 2442; all other bookings or enquiries through the Aviation Viewing Park Booking Office on 0161 489 3932.

If you want to watch planes take off and land there are three viewing mounds a great place to take photographs, offering unrivalled views of the runways.

You'll also find a gift shop, selling aviation merchandise, Concorde memorabilia and a snack bar. Hot and cold refreshments are also available.

AVIATION VIEWING PARK, Sunbank Lane, Altrincham WA15 8XQ.

Directions
The park is situated just outside the perimeter of Manchester Airport, off the A538 between Junction 6 of the M56 motorway and the airport tunnels. Turn down Sunbank Lane, by The Romper public house, then right onto Wilmslow Old Road and follow to the end.

Important Information
Dogs are not permitted within the Park, with the exception of guide dogs.
Ball games are not permitted in the Park.
Please do not feed the birds as they are a hazard to aircraft.

Manchester Airport Spectator Terrace
A spectator terrace is located at Terminal 1 on Level 13 of the Multi-Storey Car Park, you can watch planes take off and land from here.

Manchester Airport Aviation Shops
The Aviation Shops are operated by The Aviation Society. One is located at Terminal 1 on Level 13 of the Multi-Storey Car Park, and the second is at the Aviation Viewing Park. The Aviation Shops offer everything from aircraft radios, books, souvenirs and models to the Airport's official monthly flight guide, "Flight Check".

Airport Tour Centre
Trained tour guides provide information on many aspects of the aviation and travel industry. The Tour Centre, located in Terminal 1, holds displays from airlines, and shows specialist aviation videos. Tours are available for educational bodies (aged 4 and upward), or public groups - or indeed, anyone interested in the workings of a major international airport. Accessibility

Plane Access
Special vehicles (ambulift, wheelchairs) are available to transfer non-walking passengers and a companion from the airport building to the aircraft.

Ramps and Lifts
These are provided throughout the airport. All lifts have tactile buttons and voice synthesis.

Telephones
Accessibility for wheelchair users is available throughout the airport.

Toilets
Specially designed toilets are clearly signposted and available throughout the airport.

Hearing Difficulties
Many airport staff are trained in sign language. Signs throughout the airport are available to assist you. Using the "T" position on your hearing aid, you can receive additional announcements when standing next to the induction loops, marked with an ear.

Baby Changing Facilities
These are located in all three terminals close to or inside the ladies toilets.

Feeding Children
All restaurants and cafes provide high chairs and most offer food suitable for children. You will find many restaurants offering baby food heating stations.

Art Desks
Located in most eating areas, Art desks are available for children use.

Religious & Cultural

Multi-Cultural Catering
A full range of tastes and cultures are catered for with a wide variety of food and drink establishments. Please ask catering staff for details.

Multi-faith Prayer Rooms
There are two multi-faith prayer rooms with easy access for everyone. Open 24 hours a day they provide a place for quiet contemplation and prayer. The prayer room that serves Terminal 1 and 3 is located in the walkway between both terminals. The Prayer Room in Terminal 2 is located on the departures concourse.

Airport Chaplain
Established in 1980 to represent all Christian denominations, the Chaplaincy offers a range of services to support both passengers and airport staff. For additional information please call +44 (0) 161 489 2838/2113 or 3908 (internal blue phones). It is situated in the walkway between Terminals 1 and 3 next to the prayer rooms.

WUDU/Wash facilities
These are available both before and after security in Terminal 2 and in the link corridor between Terminals 1 and 3.

Wireless Hotspots
Passengers can access to the internet via their laptop or PDA from cafés and seating areas across all three terminals. The broadband service is provided by T-Mobile.
